I teach singing at the University of Bath and privately at my barn between Bath and Wells.
My philosophy is, that everyone is unique and so
is their voice therefore it is very important that you build a solid vocal technique in order to communicate all you need and want to.
Regardless of the style of music you wish to make, pop, musical theatre, classical or opera, I believe that good vocal technique is built by knowledge of the
physiological makeup and of vibration which allows freedom to communicate through our instrument.
...the above coming together as one to allow your expression.
Once the basics are firmly established, then going on to work in whatever style suits you best.
I have worked with many singers over the years, from complete beginners to those who have received poor teaching and need to
rebuild their voices.
Successes include: entrance to
international conservatoires including the Royal Academy of Music London, National Youth Choir and National Chamber Choir GB and various professional choirs both as choristers and soloists and major
